Gandikota – Belum Caves – Yaganti Temple - Lepakshi Temple

Gandikota is a small village in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh that is known for its spectacular gorge (“Gandi” in Telagu) formed by river Pennar that cuts through the Erramala hills.

Other major attraction that allures the visitors is the ancient & magnificent Gandikota fort that sits majestically on top of the gorge. The fort has 2 beautiful ancient temples (Madhavaraya & Ranganatha Swamy), Jamia Masjid, Chaar Minar, large Granary & Pigeon Tower.

Belum Caves – India’s Largest & Longest Caves System

The Belum Caves have long passages, galleries, spacious caverns with fresh water and siphons. This natural underground cave system was formed over the course of tens of thousands of years by the constant flow of underground water.

Yaganti Temple

It’s a Lord Shiva temple constructed in the 15th century. The temple has beautiful Pushkarini Pond. The devotees believe that the Nandi idol in front of the temple is continuously increasing its size.

Lepakshi Temple

Also known as Veerbhadra Temple. Built in the 16th century, the architectural features of the temple are in the Vijayanagara style with carvings and paintings at almost every exposed surface of the temple. Major attractions are the hanging pillar & India’s largest monolithic ‘Nandi’.

Tour Schedule:

• DAY 1

9th Nov Board Udyan Express at 8:00 am from CSMT, reach Hindupur station at 2 am on 9th Nov. Proceed to Lepakshi and get fresh.

• DAY 2

10th Nov Explore Lepakshi temple in the morning and proceed to Gandikota. Explore the fort and historical monuments & enjoy sunset view from Grand Canyon. Overnight at Gandikota hotel.

• DAY 3

11th Nov Proceed for Belum caves in the morning and then move for Yaganti temples. Proceed to Tadipatri station. Board MAS CSMT Exp at 6 pm, reach Mumbai at 12:30 pm on 12th Nov.
